DirtyDog{WC} (Rick) for his terrific skin work (again), and for his voice work on the new sound track..many thanks, as most of the voices you hear in the cutscenes is Rick at work :) Also to his brother NutSaCk{WC} (Alex) for helping with the dialogue, as well as his friend Gene, and, of course, Ricks' sister Aida.

Mr. Damage (Phil) for keeping everyone up to date with what was happening with the pak, and for doing a damn fine job on the new Kingpin web site.

XeuS, the author of 2 camo skins I found on the net, and used in the later levels. Thank you.
Xatrix (now Gray Matter Studios) for 'Kingpin' the game and KPRadiant.

All of you who play this pak, for having the patience to wait for me to finally finish it, and taking the time to download it and give it a try. Many thanks.

You may get the odd error message when loading a new map...ignore them, they will in no way affect the gameplay, in fact a couple of 'em have me totally baffled.

The story: Here you are at Grand Central Station at midnight, the biggest train station you've ever seen, with only bums and whores wandering around at this time of night to keep you company. But you are so intent on getting on that train, you fail to notice the pin-stripes lurking around the station....or that nobody else appears to have gotten on the same train that you're taking. It's not over yet....

Authors' Note:
Be sure to look around and explore all the different locales...there is stuff hidden all over the place, especially at places frequented by the gangs..look for hidden buttons and switches before you move on..you never know what you may find. This map-pak does not reflect the author's opinion of local constabularies around the globe...just the ones in Radio City and adjoining counties ;)

The military base was fun to do, especially the "Area 51.4 section...YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO ENTER ANY OF THE LABS UNTIL YOU OPEN ALL 3 VIEWING WINDOWS!...once you're inside a lab, be warned, it's alien technology in there, so keep your head down! This is the biggest KP (or any other) project I have ever done, and there are a lot of new sounds, and some new textures. I can't cover everything in the whole pak here, but if you find you are stuck, or a door won't open etc. don't hesitate to let me know. All doors and entrances will either open with the 'function' (f) button, keypad or pass card, key, or upon the death of all enemies in that particular area.

READ THIS!
>>>>>>>>> After the train crash in the first level, you may find you can't make your way to the front of the train if you go outside..if this is the case, go back inside the carriage, and use the door the conductor came thru..just walk up to it and it will open. Once you are outside the carriage, you will find you don't have much room, but you will be able to either duck under (crouch), or work your way between any of the obstacles...only the undamaged tunnel support will block your path as described above. The ammo in the first carriage over-hanging the waste pit is accessible thru the side door of the carriage.....you do NOT have to jump across to the open door...it is also possible to jump down to the walkway where the thugs were without landing in the sludge...you just gotta figure out how :)

>>>>>>>>> USING THE KEYPADS:
I have put keypads in some of the Area 51.4 maps, and they work as best as I could get 'em to, as long as you follow these instructions: Put the cursor over the button you want to press (obviously) and press the action key (f). You must be standing close to the keypad to operate it, or the game will have problems knowing which button you're pointing at. Only those buttons that are "lit up" are usable, so even though the keypad may have 9 buttons, only the first 5 may be usable (you will be told when you approach a keypad how may digits to enter)..it's pretty obvious which ones are blanked out, it will always be the last few buttons on the pad. Enter the correct number of digits in any order you like (you have to figure out which is the correct sequence), and the keypad will then either activate the targetted entity, or you will get an "error" message, in which case you have to enter the numbers again, in a different sequence. Do not start pushing the buttons again until they are all back to their starting position! If you make a mistake and press the wrong button, finish inserting all the numbers before trying what you think is the correct sequence.

>>>>>>>>> Later on in the pack you can pick up dynamite to use at your discretion. To facilitate this, as you approach an area where you can use it, you will get a message telling you that if you keep going, the TNT will be placed. At this point, if you think you have another option or way around the blockage, you can move away from the area, and save the TNT for later use. NOTE: In some cases, there is no other way out, and you will have to use the dynamite...at least this way you get warned that it will be placed, instead of being caught unawares...once placed, you will get a message and an audio cue(timer) letting you know you have 3 seconds to get out of the way.

>>>>>>>>> TO START:<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Pull down the console, and type in 'map intro' (without the punctuation marks). If you don't want to see the intro again when you restart the game, type in 'map start', and you'll go straight to the opening cutscene. (Alternatively, type in "map first", and you will go straight to the first playable map).
*****NOTE*************
Make sure that your PAIN SKINS are turned OFF. Launch Kingpin, go to VISUALS, move the bar next to PAIN SKINS all the way to the LEFT. Otherwise all skins will get whacky during gameplay!
ALSO---if you have any .pak files in your main folder that contain custom BAGMAN skins, remove it as those skins will end up replacing skins that were designed for this project.

I don't (read:can't) do scripting, so when I want to do something a bit different, I have to use the game engine to try to make it do something it doesn't normally do. The keypads are a good example, it took me 4 hrs to finally get a mix of triggers and relays to make it work like I wanted it to, but it is still limited to the standard capabilities of the Q2 engine. As the levels were being tested, it was pointed out that bodies remained hanging in mid-air if the character was shot while on an entity moving downwards...this is another good example of stuff I can't do anything about...the game engine is what it is.
